PODCAST

This is my first experience using a podcast tool. I chose to use SoundCloud I am not a huge fan of recording audio of myself and posting it online but digital citizenship gives access to all digital tools. I think it is important to experiment with these tools even if at first we may seem uncomfortable or even if it is not something you see yourself using in the future. Through experimentation and education we can better understand what these tools have to offer. We may come across these items through work or other aspects of our lives and having a general understanding of them will prove useful. Many of the tools offer options to share or to keep private so practicing with the tool and keeping it private is a good way to learn how it works.

I found this tool to be pretty straight forward.  I chose to record my script on a digital recorder first then upload the file to the site, rather than try to record directly onto SoundCloud.  I guess in order to get the full experience, I should have tried both options, but I didn't want to risk screwing up recording.  I find the more I record, and try to tweak something, the more mistakes I make! You should see me set up a new voicemail message.......

I don't anticipate creating any podcasts in the near future, but I am glad to have the opportunity to learn about them and experiment with the different podcasting tools available.  You never know when you might come across one or have the topic pop up in a conversation.  It is always nice to understand what people are talking about.
